Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who are a dentist as well as a teacher at school, helped and encouraged her in her initial enthusiasm for theater and drama. Her initial dream to become a master monkey was eclipsed by her wish to study theater and drama. Success in the beginning and an immediate growth in popularity marked her as a young actor. Following her studies in 1998 she appeared on a French talent-scouting television program called Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching her acting career fully. Tautou went to the Institut Catholique de Paris, in addition to attending church as an infant. However she has now distanced herself with this background. She has stated that she is not an official Catholic. As well as her acting profession she also pursued a modeling career. The model is also the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Alongside her acting profession she is also interested in photography. She recently exhibited some of her photographs during the Arles Film Festival and wore the name Superficial. Her work is mostly focused on the spotlight and celebrities and turns the camera on the journalists who scrutinised her after her meteoric popularity alongside Amelie as well as a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major performance in Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a worldwide box office hit, receiving accolades at award ceremonies around the globe. It's still the top grossing French language film in the US. The film's popularity led to Tautou's appearance in an array of films from British dramatics such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood by directing Ron Howard of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code along with Tom Hanks.
